This blueberry cinnamon porridge is just another food I can’t stop thinking about.
Nothing makes me as excited about an early morning as porridge, including this blueberry cinnamon porridge. I’m definitely the type of person who’s already thinking about breakfast before going to bed.
It hasn’t always been like this. Up until 3 or 4 years ago I wasn’t a fan of breakfast. It was merely something to keep me going and stop my stomach from making awkward noises during classes. But then I found oats. So breakfast is now my favourite meal of the day. Purely thanks to the oats.
During most of the autumn and winter, I had cacao or cinnamon porridge. Lately, I’ve been craving something a little more fresh. I recently came up with this combo, which is amazing. I added blueberry jam and cinnamon to my oats while they were cooking.
It turned out much better than expected. The blueberry jam adds a lovely freshness to the porridge, while the cinnamon adds a slight sweetness. This porridge is not as heavy or hearty as cacao or cinnamon-only porridges tend to be, but it will still leave you feeling satisfied.
You can switch up this porridge recipe in so many ways. You can use a different type of jam or plant milk. You can use more or less cinnamon, or you can leave it out completely and let the fruit flavour stand on its own (super delicious as well!).
