Kick start your day with this delicious bowl of Cacao Oatmeal with Cinnamon. It’s a healthy, filling, and super delicious breakfast!
I am excited to share this recipe with you for two reasons. 1) it’s my first recipe on this new blog, and 2) cacao porridge is my all time favourite breakfast.
When is it appropriate to eat cacao porridge? All the time. Breakfast is the obvious choice, but it’s also okay to have it for lunch or even dinner. It’s also highly recommended to eat it as a snack/dessert while watching Grey’s Anatomy.
I’ve been starting every day with oatmeal for the past three years – with a few exceptions, of course. Sometimes my cravings for pancakes or bread take over but that is a rare occasion. Oatmeal is just too good, especially when you add cacao powder AND cinnamon. The combo certainly isn’t original but it’s still amazing. Just looking at these pictures of the oatmeal makes my mouth drool.
Not only is oatmeal super delicious and filling, it is also full of fiber and complex carbohydrates, high in protein and a good source of several minerals, including potassium and phosphor, making it the perfect choice for breakfast.

- 3/4 cup oats
- 1.5 cups water
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Shredded coconut
- Nut butter
Add all of the ingredients to a small pot.
Cook on medium heat for 5-10 minutes or until the porridge has reached your preferred consistency.
Pour the oats into a bowl, top with favourite toppings and serve!
